Kanpai x Troy O'shea Handmade 5 Panel Cap
*PLEASE NOTE* this fabric has been Indigo-dyed and therefore may bleed when first wet, so please hand wash separately from other items of clothing.
In collaboration with Troy O’Shea comes this lightweight unstructured five panel cap which will age beautifully with wears.
This is our interpretation of the modern five panel cap using some absolutely beautiful fabric from our home country, Japan. We decided on a 9oz Fushiori Indigo-dyed cotton. The yarn used to make this fabric was pre-dyed yellow before being Indigo-dyed making it an enriching shade of deep green. This fabric will age and fade beautifully with wears and washes, just like a good pair of denim jeans.
Although unstructured, we decided to line the internal front panel with a lightweight 5oz Indigo-dyed cotton/hemp linen which is incredibly soft to touch.
Important to note that these caps are all handmade from start to finish by Troy in his workshop in Brisbane, on vintage sewing machines from the early 1900’s. Therefore, no two caps are the same, and differences and small inconsistencies in construction are to be celebrated. These are not factory made caps so please keep this in mind before purchasing.
These caps are intended to be worn, skated in and aged overtime, creating something personal and unique to the wearer. They will only get better overtime.
